Long Time No See…

So it’s been a while since our last post (a year to be exact). Although we haven’t kept you updated in the past, expect a lot more in the future!

For starters, we moved! Things have been hectic around here between settling into our new studio and filling our numerous orders — July has been busy to say the least. Our new studio is located at 5583 West 74th Street, so feel free to pop in anytime and check it out! We are currently in the process of planning a studio opening party for the fall so all of our friends and clients can come see it for themselves (and so we can take a break and have some fun with you all too!). 

Most of our recent work has involved a lot of signs and banners, but we’ve also done some amazing graphics and vehicle wraps for various companies. Below we have a great graphic for our newest semi-pro team, the Indy Eleven soccer team!

A lot of people out there think of print studios as your old run of the muck sign and banner shop. Totally untrue. Winter Weather Versus Car Vinyls

Now that we are in the dead of the winter months, people often ask how to care for their exterior car vinyl, and how to care for it.  Well, the answer is simple.  Just basic washing and drying of your car or truck is all that is necessary to ensure that your vinyl will stay looking its best.  I highly recommend that when going to a car wash, such as Mikes, deter the car wash assistant from spraying the vehicle with the wand.  Sometimes car wash employees can be a little careless as to the exterior of a vehicle.  And a if the vehicle is sprayed too close, at a drastic angle, the possibility of the vinyl peeling off is immense.    Another question that i’ve gotten, is to whether a person can wax thier car or truck after a vinyl is applies.  Yes of course,  but there are specialty waxes that must be used.  Regular old carnuba waxes are a huge no no for vinyl.  Meguiar’s makes a great wax for vinyl from start to finish.

What is a G7 Master Qualification?

I get this question a lot, especially with customers who are not versed in the lingo of the print world.  Just what in the heck is this little G7 plaque that you have?  The G7 qualification is awarded to printers that use the most modern technology, techniques, proofing and press controls, and standards required to produce a close visual match from proof to print.  G7 specifies the components of an image that define a similar visual appearance to the humaneye.  G7 is neither a printing or proffing standard, rather it defines process controls for neutrality and tonality of an image.  But where is G7 derived from.  Well, the G is for gray balance, and the 7 is for the 7 iso colors.  This is a very highly esteemed qualification that less than 1% of the printers in the country have.  So the next time you need any large format graphics produced, ask them, “let me see your G7.”  But being that Speedpro Imaging already has its G7 Master qualification, why shop around.  Give us a call, check out our website.  And as always, let Speedpro Imaging fulfill your large format graphic needs.
